The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TaSeen. Those are the verses of the Koran, a clear Book, 1 a guidance and glad tidings to believers, 2 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. 3 Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; 4 They will suffer the worst kind of torment and will be lost in the life to come. 5 You have received the Koran from the Wise, the Knower. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allah, Lord of the worlds. 8 Moses, it is I, Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. 9 Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent he turned his back and fled without turning (to look). "O Moses," (said the voice), "be not fearful. Surely those sent as messengers do not fear in My presence, 10 as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful. 11 Put your hand inside your collar and it will come out luminous without evil? among the nine signs to Pharaoh and his nation, indeed they were an impious nation' 12 Then when Our signs came unto them illuminating, they said: this is a magic manifest. 13 And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers. 14
