The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta Sin. These are verses from the Quran, a book that makes things clear; 1 a guidance, and good tidings unto the believers 2 Who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate, and of the Hereafter they are convinced. 3 Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; 4 Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers. 5 But [as for thee, O believer,] verily, thou hast received this Qur'an out of the grace of One who is wise, all-knowing. 6 Behold! Moses said to his family: "I perceive a fire; soon will I bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand to light our fuel, that ye may warm yourselves. 7 But when he came close to it, a call was sounded: "Blessed are all who are within [reach of] this fire, and all who are near it! And limitless in His glory is God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!" 8 O Musa! verily it is I, Allah, the Mighty the Wise! 9 Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, 10 “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue – then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) 11 And put thy hand into the bosom of thy robe, it will come forth white but unhurt. (This will be one) among nine tokens unto Pharaoh and his people Lo! they were ever evil-living folk. 12 But when Our tokens came unto them, plain to see, they said: This is mere magic, 13 And they gainsaid them, out of spite and arrogance, although their souls were convinced thereof. So behold! what hath been the end of the corruptors. 14
