The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book 1 a guidance, and good tidings unto the believers 2 Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. 4 Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers. 5 You have been conveyed the Qur'an from One all-wise and all-knowing. 6 (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allah, Lord of the worlds. 8 O Moses, verily this is Me, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise! 9 [And then He said:] "Now throw down thy staff!" But when he saw it move rapidly, as if it were a serpent, he drew back [in terror,] and did not [dare to] return. [And God spoke to him again:] O Moses! Fear not - for, behold, no fear need the message-bearers have in My Presence, 10 except he who has done evil, then, after evil, has changed into good. I am the Forgiving, Most Merciful. 11 Put your hand inside your collar and it will come out luminous without evil? among the nine signs to Pharaoh and his nation, indeed they were an impious nation' 12 And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic." 13 And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their ownselves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Musa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Musa (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidun (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.). 14
