The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ TaSeen. Those are the verses of the Koran, a clear Book, 1 A guidance and good tidings for the believers, 2 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and are certain of the Hereafter. 3 Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; 4 Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. 5 And verily thou art receiving the Qur'an from before the Wise, the Knowing. 6 (Remember) when Moses said unto his household: Lo! I spy afar off a fire; I will bring you tidings thence, or bring to you a borrowed flame that ye may warm yourselves. 7 So when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds; 8 Moses, it is I, Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. 9 Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, 10 and neither need anyone who has done wrong and then has replaced the wrong with good: for, verily, I am much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! 11 "Now place thy hand into thy bosom: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish!" [And thou shalt go] with nine [of My] messages unto Pharaoh and his people for, verily, they are people depraved!" 12 But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic." 13 And they denied them out of malice and pride, though in their hearts they believed that they were true. So see how was the end of evil-doers! 14
