The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta'. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Clear Book; 1 a guidance, and good tidings unto the believers 2 Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure. 3 Those who do not believe in the Hereafter – We have made their deeds seem good to them, so they are astray. 4 They are those for whom there will be an evil torment (in this world). And in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. 5 As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing. 6 When Musa said to his family: Surely I see fire; I will bring to you from it some news, or I will bring to you therefrom a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves. 7 But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard: "Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 8 O Musa! surely I am Allah, the Mighty, the Wise; 9 Cast down your staff' And when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned about retreating, and did not turn back. 'Moses, do not fear, indeed the Messengers do not fear (when they are) with Me, 10 Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful. 11 And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient." 12 And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic." 13 And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance. Then see the nature of the consequence for the wrong-doers! 14
