The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TA SIN. THESE are the verses of the Qur'an, and collection of explicit laws, 1 A guidance and good tidings for the believers, 2 Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter. 3 Lo! as for those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their works fairseeming unto them so that they are all astray. 4 they are the ones who will have the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. 5 And verily thou art receiving the Qur'an from before the Wise, the Knowing. 6 Tell of Moses who said to his family, "I have seen a fire. I will bring you news from there, or a burning brand for you to warm yourselves." 7 And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 8 O Moses, verily this is Me, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise! 9 Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, 10 Excepting any who may have done wrong and thereafter changeth evil for good then verily I am Forgiving, Merciful. 11 "And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth white without hurt. (These are) among the nine signs (you will take) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people, they are a people who are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 12 But when Our signs came to them visibly, they said: 'This is plain sorcery.' 13 And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance. Then see the nature of the consequence for the wrong-doers! 14
