The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta'. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Clear Book; 1 A guidance and glad tidings for the believers. 2 who establish Prayer and give Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 3 As to those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, but they blindly wander on. 4 It is they whom the worst of suffering awaits: for it is they, they who in the life to come shall be the greatest losers! 5 Thou receivest the Koran from One All-wise, All-knowing. 6 [Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 O Moses, indeed it is I - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise." 9 Cast down your staff' And when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned about retreating, and did not turn back. 'Moses, do not fear, indeed the Messengers do not fear (when they are) with Me, 10 except he who has done evil, then, after evil, has changed into good. I am the Forgiving, Most Merciful. 11 And put thy hand into the bosom of thy robe, it will come forth white but unhurt. (This will be one) among nine tokens unto Pharaoh and his people Lo! they were ever evil-living folk. 12 But when Our tokens came unto them, plain to see, they said: This is mere magic, 13 and they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, wrongfully and out of pride. Behold, how was the end of the workers of corruption! 14
