The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book 1 A guide (to the Right Path); and glad tidings for the believers [who believe in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism)]. 2 Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. 3 Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; 4 They are those who will suffer the worst chastisement in this life, and will be the greatest losers in the life to come. 5 You have received this Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing. 6 Tell of Moses who said to his family, "I have seen a fire. I will bring you news from there, or a burning brand for you to warm yourselves." 7 But when he came to it, he was called: "Blessed is whosoever is in the fire, and whosoever is round about it! And glorified be Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 8 “O Moosa, I am indeed, in truth, Allah the Almighty, the Wise.” 9 Cast down your staff' And when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned about retreating, and did not turn back. 'Moses, do not fear, indeed the Messengers do not fear (when they are) with Me, 10 and neither need anyone who has done wrong and then has replaced the wrong with good: for, verily, I am much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! 11 Put your hand into your pocket. It will come out sheer white but unharmed. This is one of the nine miracles which shall be showing to the Pharaoh and his people; they are truly wicked men." 12 But when Our Clear Signs came to them, they said: "This is plain magic." 13 And they denied them out of malice and pride, though in their hearts they believed that they were true. So see how was the end of evil-doers! 14
