And so, they who are bent on denying the truth are saying: "What! After we have become dust - we and our forefathers - shall we [all,] forsooth, be brought forth [from the dead]? 67 It was promised to us and to our fathers before us. It is only ancient legends." 68 Say, "Travel through the land and see how terrible was the end of the criminal ones". 69 And grieve thou not for them, nor be in distress because of what they plot (against thee). 70 They say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak the truth?' 71 Say thou: belike close behind you may be some of that which ye would hasten on. 72 Surely thy Lord is bountiful to men; but most of them are not thankful. 73 Your Lord certainly knows whatever their hearts conceal or reveal. 74 And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register. 75 Surely, this Koran relates to the Children of Israel most of that which they are at variance. 76 And truly, it (this Quran) is a guide and a mercy to the believers. 77 Surely your Lord in His wisdom will decide between them. He is all-mighty and all-knowing. 78 Wherefore put thy trust in Allah; verily thou art on manifest truth. 79 You cannot make the dead to listen, or the deaf to hear the call, when they have turned their backs, 80 nor can you direct the blind to the Right Way, preventing them from falling into error. You can make only those who believe in Our verses to hear the call and then submit. 81 ۞ And when the time for the fulfilment of Our Word against them will come, We shall bring forth for them a beast from the earth who will speak to them because people did not believe in Our Signs. 82
