Al-Naml 6 of 7
The unbelievers say: 'When we and our fathers are turned to dust, shall we be brought forth? 67 We were promised this before, and so were our fathers. It is but the fictitious story of the ancients' 68 Say, "Travel through the land and see how terrible was the end of the criminal ones". 69 And grieve you not for them, nor be straitened (in distress) because of what they plot. 70 And they say, “When will this promise come, if you are truthful?” 71 Say: "Perhaps that which you wish to hasten on, may be close behind you. 72 Indeed Your Lord is exceedingly bountiful to mankind. Yet most of them do not give thanks. 73 And indeed your Lord knows what is hidden in their bosoms, and what they disclose. 74 And there is nothing hidden in the heaven and the earth, but is in a Clear Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 75 This Quran explains to the children of Israel much of what they differ over, 76 And indeed it is a guidance and a mercy for the Muslims. 77 Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His [wise] judgement. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 78 So you place your trust in God. Certainly you stand on positive truth. 79 Surely you cannot make the dead hear you, nor can you make the deaf hear your call if they turn back in flight, 80 nor can you guide the blind out of their error. You can make only those hear you who believe in Our revelations and surrender themselves to Us. 81 ۞ And when the word is fulfilled concerning them, We shall bring forth a beast of the earth to speak unto them because mankind had not faith in Our revelations. 82

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
