3/4 Hizb 39
< random >
۞ When Moses had fulfilled the term and was journeying with his family, he noticed a fire on the side of the mountain. "Wait here," he said to his family; "I have seen a fire. I may haply bring some news from there, or an ember that you may warm yourselves." 29 But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot - from the tree, "O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the worlds." 30 He received the command: "Throw away your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned back in retreat, and did not even look behind. (He was told): "O Moses, go ahead and have no fear. You are perfectly secure. 31 Put your hand in the neck (of your shirt), it will come out luminous, unharmed, and draw your arm to you so that you are not afraid. These are two signs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his Assembly. Surely, they were an impious nation.' 32 Moses said: "My Lord, I have killed one person from among them, and I fear that they will kill me. 33 My brother Aaron is more fluent than I am. Send him with me to assist me and express my truthfulness; I am afraid they will reject me". 34 God said: "We shall strengthen your arm through your brother, We shall give you both power, so that they shall not be able to harm you. Set forth with Our signs. You, and those who follow you, will surely prevail." 35 Then when Musa (Moses) came to them with Our Clear Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they said: "This is nothing but invented magic. Never did we hear of this among our fathers of old." 36 And Moses replied, "My Lord knows best who comes with guidance from Him and who will attain the heavenly abode in the hereafter. The wrongdoers shall never prosper." 37 Pharaoh said: "O nobles, I do not know that you have any god beside myself. Haman, bake bricks out of clay and build a lofty palace for me so that I may mount up and be able to observe the god of Moses, even though I believe that Moses is a liar." 38 And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason,- He and his hosts: they thought that they would not have to return to Us! 39 Therefore We seized him and his hosts, and cast their into the sea; so behold how was the end of the evildoers! 40 We had made them leaders, but they called people to the Fire; and on the Day of Judgement they will not be helped. 41 A curse lies upon them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be despised. 42
