Is he, then, whom We have promised an excellent promise which he is going to meet, like unto him whom We have suffered to enjoy awhile the enjoyment of the life of the world, then on the Day of Resurrection he shall be of those brought up! 61 And on the Day whereon He shall call unto them and say: where are My associates whom ye were wont to assert? 62 Those about whom the Word will have come true (to be punished) will say: "Our Lord! These are they whom we led astray. We led them astray, as we were astray ourselves. We declare our innocence (from them) before You. It was not us they worshipped." 63 Then they will be told, "Call upon your partners." And they will call upon them, but will receive no answer. They shall witness the punishment. If only they had allowed themselves to be guided. 64 And on the Day whereon He shall call unto them and say: what answer gave ye to the sent ones? 65 Bedimmed unto them shall be all excuses on that Day, wherefore they shall not be able to ask one of another. 66 But as for him who repents, and believes, and works righteousness, haply he shall be among the prosperers. 67 And thy Lord createth whatsoever He listeth and chooseth; no choice is to be for them. Hallowed be Allah and exalted above that which they associate! 68 Your Lord knows all that their hearts conceal and all that they reveal. 69 And He is Allah: There is no god but He. To Him be praise, at the first and at the last: for Him is the Command, and to Him shall ye (all) be brought back. 70 (Muhammad), ask them, "Think, if God were to cause the night to continue until the Day of Judgment which Lord besides Him could bring you light? Will you then not listen to (His revelations)?" 71 Say, “What is your opinion if Allah makes it day continuously for you till the Day of Resurrection then, other than Allah, who is the God who could bring you night for you to rest during it? So do you not perceive?” 72 It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you Night and Day,- that ye may rest therein, and that ye may seek of his Grace;- and in order that ye may be grateful. 73 Upon that Day He will call to them saying: 'Now, where are those whom you alleged to be My associates' 74 And [they will remain silent: for by then] We will have called forth witnesses from within every community, and will have said [unto the sinners]: "Produce an evidence for what you have been claiming!" And so they will come to understand that all truth is God's [alone]; and all their false imagery will have forsaken them. 75
