The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim 1 DO MEN THINK that on their [mere] saying, "We have attained to faith", they will be left to themselves, and will not be put to a test? 2 And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test). 3 Do those who do evil imagine that they will escape Us? How ill they judge! 4 For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things). 5 And whosoever striveth, striveth only for himself, for lo! Allah is altogether Independent of (His) creatures. 6 Those who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds. 7 We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did. 8 We shall surely admit those who believe and do good deeds to the company of the righteous. 9 There are among men those who say: "We believe in God;" yet if they happen to suffer in the cause of God they take oppression by men as punishment from God. And if help comes to them from your Lord, they say: "We were with you." Does not God know what is hidden in the hearts of men? 10 And Allah most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites. 11 The unbelievers say to those who believe: 'Follow our path, and we will carry your sins' Yet they cannot carry even a thing of their sins. They are surely lying. 12 They shall bear their own burdens, and other burdens besides. On the Day of Resurrection they shall be questioned about their false assertions. 13
