The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
69 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Romans (Al-Room) before The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Do people think that they are left alone by saying: 'We are believers' and will not be tried? 2 And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test). 3 Or do they think - they who do evil deeds [while claiming to have attained to faith] - that they can escape Us? Bad, indeed, is their judgment! 4 Whosoever hopeth for the meeting with Allah, then Allah's term is surely coming, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. 5 And whosoever strive, striveth only for himself: verily Allah is Independent of the worlds. 6 And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most certainly do away with their evil deeds and We will most certainly reward them the best of what they did. 7 We have enjoined upon man kindness to his parents, but if they exert pressure on you to associate with Me in My Divinity any that you do not know (to be My associate), do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I shall let you know all that you have done. 8 And for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and other items of Faith) and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall make them enter in (the enterance of) the righteous (i.e. in Paradise). 9 Of mankind is he who saith: We believe in Allah, but, if he be made to suffer for the sake of Allah, he mistaketh the persecution of mankind for Allah's punishment; and then, if victory cometh from thy Lord, will say: Lo! we were with you (all the while). Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the bosoms of (His) creatures? 10 Most certainly God will mark out those who believe and mark out those who are hypocrites. 11 And the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Follow our path, and we will bear (the consequences) of your faults." Never in the least will they bear their faults: in fact they are liars! 12 And surely they shall bear their loads and other loads beside their own loads, and surely they shall be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they were wont to fabricate. 13
