The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ AlifLaamMeem. 1 Do people think that they will be let go merely by saying: “We believe,” and that they will not be tested, 2 Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign. 3 Or do those who do ill-deeds imagine that they can outstrip Us? Evil (for them) is that which they decide. 4 Whoso looketh forward to the meeting with Allah (let him know that) Allah's reckoning is surely nigh, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. 5 And whosoever strive, striveth only for himself: verily Allah is Independent of the worlds. 6 Those who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds. 7 We have enjoined man to show kindness to his parents. But if they bid you associate with Me something about which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me you shall all return, and I shall tell you about all that you have done. 8 And those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous. 9 Some people say, "We have faith in God." But when they face some hardship for His cause, they begin to consider the persecution that they have experienced from people as a torment from God. When your Lord grants you a victory, they say, "We were with you." Does God not know best what is in the hearts of every creature? 10 Allah will surely ascertain who are the believers and who are the hypocrites. 11 Those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Follow our way (of religion) and we verily will bear your sins (for you). They cannot bear aught of their sins. Lo! they verily are liars. 12 And they will surely bear their own burdens and some other burdens along with their own; and they will undoubtedly be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning what they had fabricated. 13
