The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ A. L. M. 1 Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? 2 But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. 3 Or do the evildoers think that they will outstrip Us? How evil is their judgment! 4 He who hopes to meet Allah (must know) that the term of Allah is coming. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 5 He who strives does so for himself. Verily God is independent of the creatures of the world. 6 Those who believe and do good deeds, We shall cleanse them of their evil deeds and reward them according to the best of their deeds. 7 We have charged man, that he be kind to his parents; but if they strive with thee to make thee associate with Me that whereof thou hast no knowledge, then do not obey them; unto Me you shall return, and I shall tell you what you were doing. 8 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds – We shall indeed include them among the virtuous. 9 Some people say, "We have faith in God." But when they face some hardship for His cause, they begin to consider the persecution that they have experienced from people as a torment from God. When your Lord grants you a victory, they say, "We were with you." Does God not know best what is in the hearts of every creature? 10 And Allah most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites. 11 The unbelievers say to the believers: “Follow our way and we will carry the burden of your sins.” (They say so even though) they are not going to carry any part of their sins. Surely they are lying. 12 And verily, they shall bear their own loads, and other loads besides their own, and verily, they shall be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about that which they used to fabricate. 13
