We sent Noah to his people, and he lived with them a thousand years minus fifty. Then they were caught by the deluge for they were evil. 14 We saved Noah and the people in the Ark and made (their case) a miracle for the world. 15 And We sent Ibrahim. Recall what time he said unto his people: worship Allah, and fear Him; that is best for you if ye but knew. 16 “You worship only idols instead of Allah, and only forge a clear lie; indeed those whom you worship instead of Allah do not control your sustenance – therefore seek your sustenance from Allah, and worship Him, and be grateful to Him; it is towards Him that you will be returned.” 17 And if you reject (the truth), nations before you did indeed reject (the truth); and nothing is incumbent on the apostle but a plain delivering (of the message). 18 Do they not see how Allah originates the Creation, and then brings it back? That is an easy matter for Allah. 19 Say: “Go about the earth and see how He created for the first time, and then Allah will recreate life.” Surely, Allah has power over everything. 20 He punishes whom He will and shows mercy to whom He pleases. And to Him you shall be returned. 21 Escape Him you cannot either in the earth or in the sky; and you have no friend or helper apart from God. 22
