The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ AlifLaamMeem. 1 The Romans have been defeated. 2 In a nearer land; and they, after the overcoming of them, shall soon overcome. 3 All matters of the past and future are in the hands of God. The believers will enjoy the help of God on that Day. 4 in God's help; God helps whomsoever He will; and He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 5 It is a promise of God; and God does not go back on His promise. Yet most men do not understand: 6 They know the outward of this world's life, but of the hereafter they are absolutely heedless. 7 Have they not thought that God has not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them but for a genuine purpose to exist for an appointed term? Many people do not believe in their meeting with their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled on the earth and seen how the others before them had met their end? They were far more powerful than them, furrowed the earth and colonised it far more than they; and their apostles came to them with visible signs. It was surely not for God to wrong them, they wronged themselves. 9 Then the end of those who committed evil was evil, for they belied the signs of God, and they derided them. 10
