Corruption has appeared on land and sea with what the hands of the people earned. Therefore, they taste some of what they did in order that they return. 41 Say (O Muhammad, to the disbelievers): Travel in the land, and see the nature of the consequence for those who were before you! Most of them were idolaters. 42 So direct your face toward the correct religion before a Day comes from Allah of which there is no repelling. That Day, they will be divided. 43 So that he who disbelieves will bear the consequence of his unbelief; and he who does the right will straighten out the way for himself, 44 God will reward the righteously striving believers through His favor. He does not love the unbelievers. 45 And of His signs is that He looses the winds as bearers of glad tidings, so that He lets you taste His Mercy and that the ships may sail at His command in order that you can seek His bounty and be thankful. 46 Indeed, We sent before thee Messengers unto their people, and they brought them the clear signs; then We took vengeance upon those who sinned; and it was ever a duty incumbent upon Us, to help the believers. 47 God is He that looses the winds, that stir up clouds; and He spreads them in heaven how He will, and shatters them; then thou seest the rain issuing out of the midst of them, and when He smites with it whomsoever of His servants He will, lo, they rejoice, 48 Although before it came down they were despondent. 49 Look then at the effects of Allah's mercy: what wise He quickeneth the earth after the death thereof. Verily, He is the Quickener of the dead, and He is over everything Potent. 50 And if We send a wind and they see their fields yellow because of it, then indeed they would become ungrateful after it. 51 You cannot make the dead to listen nor the deaf hear the call when they have turned back and retreated, 52 Nor can you make the blind see the way when they have gone astray. You can make none hear except those who believe Our signs and have come to submission. 53
