۞ IT IS GOD who creates you [all in a states of weakness, and then, after weakness, ordains strength [for you,] and then, after [a period of] strength, ordains [old-age] weakness and grey hair. He creates what He wills; and He alone is all-knowing, infinite in His power. 54 And on the day when the Hour riseth the guilty will vow that they did tarry but an hour - thus were they ever deceived. 55 And those who have been vouchsafed knowledge and belief will say: assuredly ye have tarried according to the decree of Allah until the Day of Upraising; so this is the Day of Upraising, but ye were wont not to know. 56 On that Day the excusing of themselves will not profit those who did wrong, nor shall they be suffered to please Allah. 57 Indeed, We have struck for the people in this Koran every manner of similitude; and if thou bringest them a sign, those who are unbelievers will certainly say, 'You do nothing but follow falsehood.' 58 As such Allah seals the hearts of those who do not know. 59 So have thou patience; verily the promise of Allah is true. And let not make thee impatient those who have no conviction. 60
