Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. 6 And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. 10 This is Allah's creation, but show Me what those besides Him have created. Nay, the unjust are in manifest error 11
