Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Surely, those who believe and do good works shall enter gardens of bliss, 8 They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 This is the creation of Allah; shew me that which those beside Him have created. Aye! the wrong-doers are in error manifest. 11
