In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are verses of the wise Book. 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 They are on guidance from their Lord, and will prosper. 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them – as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Surely those who believe and do good deeds shall have Gardens of Bliss. 8 They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
