Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are verses of the Book of Wisdom 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 Those who establish worship and pay the poor-due and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 Surely those who believe and do good deeds shall have Gardens of Bliss. 8 Wherein they will abide. It is a promise of Allah in truth. He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. 11
