Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
AlifLaamMeem. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. 4 Those are guided by their Lord and will surely prosper. 5 But among men are also those who spread frivolous stories to mislead (others) from the way of God, without any knowledge, and take it lightly. For such as these the nemesis will be shameful. 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind. 10 This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. 11
