Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are revelations of the wise Scripture, 2 A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinun (good-doers) 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 There are some human beings who purchase an enchanting diversion in order to lead people away from the way of Allah without having any knowledge, who hold the call to the Way of Allah to ridicule. A humiliating chastisement awaits them. 6 When Our revelations are recited to them, they turn back on their heels out of pride as if they did not hear them or their ears had been sealed off. Warn them of the painful torment. 7 Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
