In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 A Guide and a Mercy to the Doers of Good,- 3 Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. 6 And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 This is the creation of Allah; shew me that which those beside Him have created. Aye! the wrong-doers are in error manifest. 11
