Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the doers of goodness, 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 They are on guidance from their Lord, and will prosper. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 To abide therein. It is a Promise of Allah in truth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. 11
