Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 These are the verses of the sagacious Book, 2 A guidance and mercy for the righteous 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 It is they who are on true guidance from their Lord, and it is they who shall prosper. 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 When Our revelations are recited to them, they turn back on their heels out of pride as if they did not hear them or their ears had been sealed off. Warn them of the painful torment. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. 8 Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
