Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on true guidance from their Lord, and it is they who shall prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills, so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts. And We send down water from the sky and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 This is Allah's creation, but show Me what those besides Him have created. Nay, the unjust are in manifest error 11
