Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 The bestowal from on high of this divine writ issues, beyond any doubt, from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 2 Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Nay, it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayest admonish a people to whom no warner has come before thee: in order that they may receive guidance. 3 Allah it is Who created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is betwixt the twain in six days, and then He established Himself on the throne. No patron have ye nor an intercessor besides Him. Will ye not then be admonished? 4 He disposeth every affair from the heaven unto the earth; thereafter it shall ascend unto Him in a Day the measure whereof is one thousand years of that which ye compute. 5 Such is the Knower of the unseen and the visible, the Powerful, the Merciful, 6 who perfected everything He created. He originated the creation of the human from clay, 7 then He fashioned his progeny of an extraction of mean water, 8 and then He forms him in accordance with what he is meant to be, and breathes into him of His spirit: and [thus, O men,] He endows you with hearing, and sight, and feelings as well as minds: [yet] how seldom are you grateful! 9 They have said, "How can we be brought to life again after we have been lost in the earth?" In fact, they have no faith in the Day of Judgment 10 ۞ Say: "The angel of death, who is set over you, will take your souls, then you shall be brought to your Lord." 11
