Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 Revelation of this Book, whereof there is no doubt, is from the Lord of the Worlds. 2 Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muhammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided. 3 It was Allah, who, in six days created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and then willed to the Throne. You have no guardian nor intercessor other than Him. Will you not remember? 4 He regulates all affairs from high to low, then they rise to perfection step by step in a (heavenly) day whose measure is a thousand years of your reckoning. 5 Such is the Knower of the unseen and the visible, the Powerful, the Merciful, 6 who perfected everything He created. He originated the creation of the human from clay, 7 Then He made his progeny of an extract, of water held in light estimation. 8 and then He forms him in accordance with what he is meant to be, and breathes into him of His spirit: and [thus, O men,] He endows you with hearing, and sight, and feelings as well as minds: [yet] how seldom are you grateful! 9 They say: “Shall we be created afresh after we have become lost in the earth?” Nay, the fact is that they deny that they will meet their Lord. 10 ۞ Say: "The angel of death appointed over you will take away your soul, then you will be sent back to your Lord." 11
