Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 This Book has beyond all doubt been revealed by the Lord of the Universe. 2 What! They dare say that, “He has fabricated it”? In fact it is the Truth from your Lord, in order that you warn a nation towards whom no Herald of Warning came before you, in the hope of their attaining guidance. 3 It was Allah, who, in six days created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and then willed to the Throne. You have no guardian nor intercessor other than Him. Will you not remember? 4 He sends the regulation of the affair from the heavens to the earth, then on the day which is equal to one thousand years of yours, it will ascend to Him. 5 Such is the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Mighty, the Merciful. 6 Who made all things good which He created, and He began the creation of man from clay; 7 Then made his offspring from the extract of base fluid, 8 Then He fashioned him and breathed into him of His Spirit; and appointed for you hearing and sight and hearts. Small thanks give ye! 9 For, [many are] they [who] say: "What! After we have been [dead and] lost in the earth, shall we indeed be [restored to life] in a new act of creation?" Nay, but [by saying this] they deny the truth that they are destined to meet their Sustainer! 10 ۞ Say: The angel of death, who hath charge concerning you, will gather you, and afterward unto your Lord ye will be returned. 11
