Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
A. L. M. 1 The sending down of the Book in which there is no doubt that is from the Lord of the Worlds. 2 Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayst warn a folk to whom no warner came before thee, that haply they may walk aright. 3 It is God who created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, in six spans, then assumed all authority. You have no protector other than Him, nor any intercessor. Will you not be warned even then? 4 He directs the affair from heaven to earth, then it goes up to Him in one day, whose measure is a thousand years of your counting. 5 That is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 6 Who made all things He created excellent; and first fashioned man from clay, 7 then He made his offspring from a clot of weak water (semen). 8 Then He fashioned him and breathed into him of His Spirit; and appointed for you hearing and sight and hearts. Small thanks give ye! 9 They say: 'What, when we have been destroyed in the earth, shall we indeed be in a new creation' Indeed, they disbelieve that they will meet their Lord. 10 ۞ Tell them: “The angel of death who has been charged with your souls shall gather you, and then you shall be brought back to your Lord.” 11
