And could you but see when the guilty shall hang down their heads before their Lord: Our Lord! we have seen and we have heard, therefore send us back, we will do good; surely (now) we are certain. 12 And if We had pleased We would certainly have given to every soul its guidance, but the word (which had gone forth) from Me was just: I will certainly fill hell with the jinn and men together. 13 [And He will say unto the sinners:] "Taste, then, [the recompense] for your having been oblivious of the coming of this your Day [of Judgment] - for, verily, We are [now] oblivious of you: taste, then, [this] abiding suffering for all [the evil] that you were wont to do!" 14 None believes in Our Signs except those who, when they are given good counsel through Our verses, fall down prostrate and celebrate the praise of their Lord and do not wax proud. ۩ 15 Their sides forsake their beds, and they call upon their Lord in fear and hope, and expend (in charity) out of the sustenance We have granted them. 16 No soul knoweth that which is kept hidden for them of perfect comfort as a recompense for that which they have been working. 17 Would a true believer be like him who was an evil-doer? Surely they are not equal. 18 But as for those who believe and do good works, for them are the Gardens of Retreat - a welcome (in reward) for what they used to do. 19 As for those who disobey, their abode is Hell. Whensoever they wish to escape from it they would be dragged back into it, and told: "Taste the torment of the Fire which you used to call a lie." 20 We shall certainly make them suffer worldly torment before suffering the great torment so that perhaps they may return to Us. 21 Who are more unjust than those who are reminded of the revelation of their Lord, but have ignored them? We will take revenge on the criminal. 22
