Would that you could see the guilty standing before their Lord with their heads downcast, (saying to Him): “Our Lord, we have now seen and heard, so send us back (to the world) that we might act righteously. For now we have come to have firm faith.” 12 And if We had so willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me concerning evildoers took effect: that I will fill hell with the jinn and mankind together. 13 So taste ye the sequel, for as much as ye forgat the meeting of this your day, verily We have forgotten you. Taste the torment abiding for that which ye have been working. 14 Only those who believe in Our verses, when reminded of them, prostrate themselves and exalt with the praise of their Lord in humility; ۩ 15 Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (charity in Allah's Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them. 16 So no soul knows the comfort of the eyes that is kept hidden for them*; the reward of their deeds. (Paradise) 17 Shall he, therefore, who is a believer, be like unto him who is a transgressor? They are not equal. 18 As for those who believe and act righteously, theirs shall be Gardens to dwell in, a hospitality to reward them for their deeds. 19 but as for those who are lost in iniquity - their goal is the fire: as oft as they will try to come out of it, they will be thrown back into it; and they will be told, "Taste [now] this suffering through fire which you were wont to call a lie!" 20 And most surely We will make them taste a lesser punishment before the greater punishment, so that perhaps they may return to Us in repentance. 21 And who does greater evil than he who is reminded of the signs of his Lord, then turns away from them? We shall take vengeance upon the sinners. 22
