The Parties (Al-Ahzaab)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Prophet, have fear of God and do not yield to the infidels and hypocrites. God is All-knowing and All-wise. 1 Follow what is revealed to you by your Lord. Verily God is all-knowing and all-wise. 2 And rely on Allah; and Allah is sufficient for a Protector. 3 God has not placed two hearts in any man's body, nor has He made your wives -- from whom you keep away by saying, "Be as my mother's back" -- your [real] mothers, neither He has made your adopted sons as your own sons. These are merely words which you utter with your mouths: but God speaks the truth and gives guidance to the right path. 4 Call them after their own fathers; that is closer to justice in the sight of God. If you do not know their fathers, regard them as your brothers in faith and your proteges. You will not be blamed if you make a mistake, you will be held accountable only for what in your hearts you have done intentionally. God is forgiving and merciful. 5 The Prophet has more authority over the believers than themselves. His wives are their mothers. The relatives are closer to each other, according to the Book of God, than the believers and the emigrants. However, you may show kindness to your guardians. This also is written in the Book. 6 And remember O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) when We took a covenant from the Prophets – and from you – and from Nooh, and Ibrahim, and Moosa, and Eisa the son of Maryam; and We took a firm covenant from them. 7 That he may question the truthful of their truth. And for the Infidels He hath gotten ready a torment afflictive. 8
