And it is not your wealth or your children that bring you nearer to Us in position, but it is [by being] one who has believed and done righteousness. For them there will be the double reward for what they did, and they will be in the upper chambers [of Paradise], safe [and secure]. 37 And (as for) those who strive in opposing Our communications, they shall be caused to be brought to the chastisement. 38 Say: "Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allah's Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers." 39 And (remember) the Day when He will gather them all together, and then will say to the angels: "Was it you that these people used to worship?" 40 They will say, "Exalted are You! You, [O Allah], are our benefactor not them. Rather, they used to worship the jinn; most of them were believers in them." 41 So on that Day no power shall they have over each other, for profit or harm: and We shall say to the wrong-doers, "Taste ye the Penalty of the Fire,- the which ye were wont to deny!" 42 For [thus it is:] whenever Our messages are conveyed unto them in all their clarity, they [who are bent on denying the truth] say [to one another,] "This [Muhammad] is nothing but a man who wants to turn you away from what your forefathers were wont to worship!" And they say: "This [Qur'an] is nothing but a falsehood invented [by man]!" And [finally,] they who are bent on denying the truth speak thus of the truth when it comes to them: "This is clearly nothing but spellbinding eloquence!" 43 And We had not given them Scriptures which they could study, nor sent to them before you (O Muhammad SAW) any warner (Messenger). 44 And those before them belied; and these have not arrived unto a tithe of that which We vouchsafed unto them. But they belied My apostles. So how terrible was My disapproval 45
