And it is not your riches nor your children that shall draw you nigh unto us with a near approach, but whosoever believeth and worketh righteously - then those! theirs shall be a twofold meed for that which they will have worked, and they will be in upper apartments secure. 37 And the ones who strive against Our verses to cause [them] failure - those will be brought into the punishment [to remain]. 38 Say: "Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allah's Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers." 39 On the Day when He gathers them all together, He will ask the angels, "Was it you that these people worshipped?" 40 They will say, “Purity is to you – only you are our Supporter, not they; in fact they worshipped the jinns; most of them believed only in them.” 41 And [on that Day God will say]: "None of you [created beings] has today any power to benefit or to harm another!" And [then] We shall say unto those who had been bent on evildoing: "Taste [now] that suffering through fire which you were wont to call a lie!" 42 When Our clear verses, are recited to them, they say: 'This is nothing but a man whose wish is to prevent you from that which your fathers used to worship. 'And they say: 'This is nothing but a forged lie' And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it reaches them: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery.? 43 And We have given them no scriptures which they study, nor sent We unto them, before thee, any warner. 44 Those before them denied, and these have not attained a tithe of that which We bestowed on them (of old); yet they denied My messengers. How intense then was My abhorrence (of them)! 45
