۞ Say thou: I but exhort you unto one thing: that ye stand, for Allah's sake, by twos and singly, and then ponder; in your companion there is no madness; he is naught but a warner unto you preceding a torment severe. 46 Say: "No reward have I ever asked of you [out of anything] that is yours: my reward rests with none but God, and He is witness unto everything!" 47 Say thou: verily my Lord hurleth the truth: the Knower of things hidden. 48 Say: "The Truth has arrived, and Falsehood neither creates anything new, nor restores anything." 49 Say: "If I am astray, I only stray to the loss of my own soul: but if I receive guidance, it is because of the inspiration of my Lord to me: it is He Who hears all things, and is (ever) near." 50 If you could see when they are gripped by terror without any escape, and are seized from close at hand 51 then they will say, "We now believe in Him." But how will they attain to faith, having gone so far away from it? 52 They had surely denied it before and aimed without seeing from so far away. 53 And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire [i.e. At-Taubah (turning to Allah in repentance) and the accepting of Faith etc.], as was done in the past with the people of their kind. Verily, they have been in grave doubt. 54
