۞ O men, it is you who stand in need of God. As for God, He is above all need, worthy of praise. 15 If He please, He will take you off and bring a new generation. 16 that is not difficult for God. 17 And a bearer of burthen will not bear another's burthen, and if one heavy-laden calleth for his load, naught thereof will be borne although he be of kin. Thou canst warn only those who fear their Lord, unseen, and establish prayer. And whosoever becometh clean becometh clean only for himself; and unto Allah is the return. 18 The blind man is not equal with the seer; 19 nor are darkness and light 20 the shade and the torrid heat; 21 and neither are equal the living and the dead [of heart]. Behold, [O Muhammad,] God can make hear whomever He wills, whereas thou canst not make hear such as are [dead of heart like the dead] in their graves: 22 thou art nothing but a warner. 23 We have sent you in all truth as a bearer of glad news and a warner. No nation who lived before was left without a warner. 24 If they reject you, so did their predecessors. Messengers came to them with clear signs, with scriptures, and with the enlightening Book, 25 Then I seized the disbelievers; so how did denial My rejection turn out? 26
