Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 By oath of the wise Qur’an. 2 Thou art indeed one of the messengers, 3 On a Straight Path (i.e. on Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism). 4 (This is) a Revelation sent down by the AllMighty, the Most Merciful, 5 [bestowed upon thee] so that thou mayest warn people whose forefathers had not been warned, and who therefore are unaware [of the meaning of right and wrong]. 6 Certainly the word has proved true of most of them, so they do not believe. 7 Verily We have placed on their necks shackles which are up to the chins; so that their heads are forced up. 8 and We have set a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and We have enshrouded them in veils so that they cannot see: 9 It makes no difference to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they will not believe. 10 You can only warn him who listens to the warning and fears Ar-Rahman secretly. So give him good news of forgiveness and a generous reward. 11 Verily We! We shall quicken the dead. And We write down that which they send before and their footsteps. And everything We have counted up in a Book luminous. 12
