In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ya Seen. 1 By the Qur'an full of wisdom. 2 Lo! thou art of those sent 3 On a Straight Path (i.e. on Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism). 4 A revelation from the mighty, ever-merciful (God), 5 That thou mayest warn a people whose fathers were not warned; so they are negligent. 6 Already hath the judgment, (for their infidelity) proved true of most of them, for they believe not. 7 Surely We have placed chains on their necks, and these reach up to their chins, so they have their heads raised aloft. 8 And We have set a bar before them and a bar behind them, and (thus) have covered them so that they see not. 9 Whether you warn them or do not warn, it is all the same; they will not believe. 10 You only warn he who follows the Remembrance and fears the Merciful in the Unseen. Give to him glad tidings of forgiveness and a generous wage. 11 It is We who bring the dead to life and records the deeds of human beings and their consequences (of continual effects). We keep everything recorded in an illustrious Book. 12

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
