Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ya Sin. 1 I swear by the Quran full of wisdom 2 Indeed you, [O Muhammad], are from among the messengers, 3 On a Straight Path (i.e. on Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism). 4 A revelation of the Mighty, the Merciful, 5 so that you may warn a people who are unaware because their fathers were not warned. 6 (I swear) that most of them are doomed to be punished. They have no faith. 7 We have enchained their necks up to their chins. Thus, they cannot bend their heads (to find their way). 8 and We have set a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up so that they cannot see. 9 It is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them for they shall not believe. 10 Thou warnest only him who followeth the Reminder and feareth the Beneficent in secret. To him bear tidings of forgiveness and a rich reward. 11 Verily, We give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before (them), and their traces [their footsteps and walking on the earth with their legs to the mosques for the five compulsory congregational prayers, Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) and all other good and evil they did, and that which they leave behind], and all things We have recorded with numbers (as a record) in a Clear Book. 12
