Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 By the Quran, full of wisdom, 2 Lo! thou art of those sent 3 and that you follow the right path. 4 by [virtue of] what is being bestowed from on high by the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 5 That you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, so they are heedless. 6 The sentence is surely justified against most of them, for they do not believe. 7 Lo! We have put on their necks carcans reaching unto the chins, so that they are made stiff-necked. 8 And We have put a barrier before them, and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up, so that they cannot see. 9 Whether you warn them or not, they will not believe. 10 You can only warn him who follows the Reminder (the Quran), and fears the Most Beneficent (Allah) unseen. Bear you to such one the glad tidings of forgiveness, and a generous reward (i.e. Paradise). 11 Surely it is We who bring the dead to life and write down what they have forwarded and what they have left behind; everything We have numbered in a clear register. 12
