Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 By the Wise Qur'an, 2 That you are indeed one of those sent 3 On a Straight Way. 4 This is a revelation sent down from the Majestic and All-merciful 5 That thou mayest warn a people whose fathers were not warned; so they are negligent. 6 Indeed, the word [of God's condemnation] is bound to come true against most of them: for they will not believe. 7 We have put fetters around their necks which reach up to their chins so that they are standing with their heads upright, 8 And We have set a wall before them and a wall behind them, and covered the top – so they are unable to see anything. 9 It is the same whether you have warned them or you have not warned them, they do not believe. 10 You only warn he who follows the Remembrance and fears the Merciful in the Unseen. Give to him glad tidings of forgiveness and a generous wage. 11 It is We who bring the dead to life and records the deeds of human beings and their consequences (of continual effects). We keep everything recorded in an illustrious Book. 12
