Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 By the Wise Qur'an, 2 thou art truly among the Envoys 3 on a straight path; 4 (and this Qur'an) is a revelation from the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate 5 [bestowed upon thee] so that thou mayest warn people whose forefathers had not been warned, and who therefore are unaware [of the meaning of right and wrong]. 6 The sentence is surely justified against most of them, for they do not believe. 7 Surely We have put on their necks fetters up to the chin, so their heads are raised; 8 We have set a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and, We have covered them so that they do not see. 9 And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe. 10 You can warn only him who follows the Admonition and fears the Merciful Lord without seeing Him. Give such a one good tidings of forgiveness and a generous reward. 11 Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register. 12
