And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 Another Sign for them is that We carried all their offspring in the laden vessel 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 Unless by Our benevolence, to reap advantage for a time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, 'Expend of that God has provided you,' the unbelievers say to the believers, 'What, shall we feed such a one whom, if God willed, He would feed? You are only in manifest error!' 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves! 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50
