And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof. 33 And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein. 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Holy is He Who created all things in pairs, whether it be of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. 37 And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). 45 And not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their Lord, but they are ever backsliders therefrom. 46 And when it is said to them, “Spend in Allah’s cause, from what Allah has provided you”, the disbelievers say regarding the believers, “Shall we feed these, whom if Allah willed, would have fed? You are not but in open error!” 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people! 50
