And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered, 43 Unless by mercy from Us and as comfort for a while. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 They are awaiting only for one Cry to seize them while they are yet disputing, 49 then they will not be able to make any testament, nor will they return to their people. 50
